2024 marks the return of The Feather, the solo project of Thomas Medard, known as one of the voices of Dan San. In June, Medard gave us a deeply personal cover of "Missing" by Everything But The Girl, offering a light, summery teaser. Now, the focus shifts to the debut single, "See You Again," produced, recorded, and mixed by Chris Taylor (bassist for Grizzly Bear and producer for Twin Shadow, Dirty Projectors, Moses Sumney, Morning Benders, Solange, and Aaron Parks).

Taylor also lent his vocals to the choruses. After several trips between Belgium and Spain -where Taylor is now based- the final touches were added in Sweden, with powerful, ethereal drumming by Thomas Hedlund (of Phoenix and Cult of Luna). This first single was mastered by Joe LaPorta (a Grammy Award winner, known for his work on albums by David Bowie, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, Beach House...). Being a trained graphic designer, Thomas, as usual, takes care of all the visuals accompanying his solo project.

Following his first album, self produced, Invisible (2013), which took him to stages around the globe -from Ancienne Belgique (BE) to La Maroquinerie (FR), and at festivals like FME and FEQ in Canada- and his critically acclaimed (Focus Vif 8/10, Le Soir, and Moustique ***) record ROOM (2020 – mixed by Yann Arnaud, who has worked with artists like Phoenix and Air.), Medard is stepping out of his comfort zone, refining his increasingly sophisticated indie-pop sound with the help of top-tier collaborators.

This comeback also sees The Feather joining the ranks of the Dutch label PolyMoon, home to artists like Noa Lee and Rosa Butsi. To mark this new chapter, a concert is planned for September 14th at Resset in Brussels, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his Belgian collective, Odessa MA.

‘See You Again’ features the project's indie pop DNA with a blend of 80s and 90s synthesizer sounds. The lyrics tell a love story that reflects Thomas's longing for the stage and audience after years away.
